Yes, that was a typo it's 280hp/360ftlbs (some list it as 350) They run a 14 when not launched properly, a lot of people get low 13s off good boost launches. (13.1ish) One problem with a truck like that was the inexperience with tuning them properly, there is plenty of extra power in these trucks that lays absent due to it. With stock parts the truck will run well into the 12s.

You're right I don't have a proper race car at the moment, I grew up around it though. My father and his friend ran a dragster for years and I was out there fixing it with them. One day I'll make the sy into a proper drag truck but for now I like my factory collectable.



My Sierra is a 2014 with only 40k on it and the Syclones were only built in 1991 (less than 3000 were made). When the sy was released a bunch of magazines featured it racing against ferraris and lambos. That year it was the fastest in the quarter, but it's still a truck so it didn't far as well on a circuit. The latter will likely stay mine for a long long time, and you wouldn't want one unless you're really into fixing it.. they break.

Nah, not gonna be towing so i picked 1500. Mostly getting a truck cos im relocating up north of BC. Only things i mainly want is 4x4 and a crew cab.
I picked the eco diesel option cos the discount i get through my employer is 5.3k and i think the difference between hemis was like 1.5k? But if hemi's are the way to go sure why not. Just checked the 2017 lamine version and net amount is 46080 for 4x4, crewcab, 5.7 hemi. Is that decent to start making a deal?
Comparing the prices from craigslist and autotrader, it looks pretty good but u know these dealers mark up them prices like crazy

Im debating between f150 or silverado as well, but they're makin me call with my employee code to set up an appointment with a local dealership to get their discounted invoice price. Unlike ram, letting me see what im looking at before i go there in person. I'll prolly do it soon on my off days and compare the 3 prices.

Yea black is nice, those f150 front ends are pretty and the new gm/chevs are very nice as well. I suggest an SLT equivalent or better. The interiors are quite nice.

the cummins are great dont get me wrong. but nothing else will last and i know quite a few people that have had nightmares with them 2 have even returned them to the dealer after dealing with so many issues and got a full refund


also, i dont think ill ever buy a new truck. the fuckin hit you take the second your tires dip into the street leaving the dealership driveway and you just lost "value" fuck that ill let some one else take the hit

my 2010 1500 Ram has had 0 issues. Nothing has broken. I've put in a cold air intake myself. And new muffler. Not cause stock parts broke but because I wanted to mod it. I put in air bags to level it while towing and have pushed it hard while having all that weight behind me, uphill 120km/h tow mode, HIGH rpms. It's a workhorse.

Now as for value once leaving lots.
My friend bought a 2016 3500 Cummins black out edition for $65,000. He drove it hard for a year. Been to mountains many times sledding. He sold it a few months back with 85k on it (which you know is just barely breaking in a diesel) for $60,000 privately. I couldn't fucking believe it. So I had to buy auto trader just to see that it was listed at that price. It was.

He then went and is now leasing a jacked up gmc 3500 that's worth 90k brand new.

That happens to every new car yeah but trucks are actually pretty good at holding their value.
