If it's Powe for Rupp, i don't like the idea deal for the wild. Powe is a workhorse. The type of player you win with.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
NYR trade Mike Rupp to MIN for Nick Palmieri

Michael Russo ‏@Russostrib
Nick Palmieri is in the deal, too #mnwild

Make up your minds.... if it's Rupp for Powe and Palmieri I'm going to have to write an angry letter

Powe & Palmieri for Rupp.... Not sure if I like that.

It's both

Now we have: Konopka, Kassian and Rupp.
Apparently Fletcher had this great idea that tough guys will help to score more goals by, what I would imagine, fighting the other Team's goalies and superstars. Sounds legit?

Either way, it's not too bad that the Wild got tougher. I've not been impressed with Powe lately, although I do admire his work ethic.

Nothing wrong with Rupp... he's scored some clutch goals in his time with the rags. I bet the team will miss him a lot.

Do the Wild at least clear up some cap space?

Nope. But they're no longer at the max contract #. Down to 49.
I have to say, I'm happy to see Palmieri leave. He did not want to be in Houston and he had no future with the Wild. Good riddance.
Powe had a ton of blocked shots last year, but played on the 4th line this year. I like him but he's expendable. I'm happy with the trade.
