I can't see Brodeur getting 60 starts this year..

60 probably not and even if he could, I don't think the staff would want him to. Thought is to get probably around 50sh games for Brodeur letting him rest frequently and getting Schneider some solid play time as well - that way Schneider gets experience with the team of wish he's planned to be the future of and both goalies are well rested. Hedberg who's 40 wasn't good enough to replace Marty (41) full time when Marty got injured. Brodeur (41) + Schneider (27) will be a great combination of experience + youth.

RT @strombone1: Congrats to the @NHLDevils , can't think of a better person or player to replace a hall of famer!

LOL

I'd rather see Brodeur get 30-50games then rest to Schneider

!

Brodeur said he was planning on retiring next season and now that Schneider is there he may stay a few more.

It'd be huge for Schneider if Marty played backup for him for like 20 games a year for a couple more years.
Nothing wrong with being around a legend while you learn.

Made a huge spreadsheet with all of our players based on this past season

We need to get rid of these (solely based on this past season):
Salvador ($3,166,667/yr): Only thing he's good at is Blocking Shots (He leads our team in that category).
Volchenkov ($4,250,000/yr): Also good at blocks a lot of shots(not as many as Salvador).
Barch ($750,000/yr): Not really great at anything aside from a decent amount of hits per game but I guess it's not terrible considering he's only getting paid 750k.
Zidlicky ($4,000,000/yr): Should not be a defenseman - don't think we should resign him. Terrible at defensive; good at shooting the puck I guess.
Kovalchuk ($6,666,667/yr): Not playing to his full potential at all.. Great point producer but aside from that, he's just a lazy Russian at many aspects of the game - looks like Ovechkin sometimes..
Honorable mention: Fayne, Tallinder, Josefson, Sullivan, D'Agostini

Our best players (solely based on this past season):
Henrique ($854,166/yr): Need to resign this guy ASAP.. worth a hell of a lot more than 854k. Great at all aspects of the game
Elias ($5,500,500/yr): Great guy - only thing he lacks is hitting really. Everything else is really good
Carter ($775,000/yr): Great player - also definitely worth more than 775k. Doesn't struggle in any aspect of the game aside from taking a few too many penalties perhaps.
Loktionov ($725,000/yr): Great pick up; worth more than 725k. Lacks a little in the hitting, faceoff, & blocked shot departments but really great everywhere else
Gionta ($562,500/yr): This guy is tiny but places with more heart than ANYONE ELSE on the entire roster. Plays like someone twice his size - not afraid to hit anyone. Really one of my favorite players. Struggles a little in the faceoff circle probably because of his size.
Honorable mention: Bernier, Greene, Clowe (TBD - based on his Rangers stats), Zajac, Larsson

ignored Goaltenders in these stats

Kovy was hurt and did so much for you the last full season...People are never happy. He was easily your best player when healthy after you traded Parise.

At this point we just need some more Wingers - really need to unload our defensive depth. Pick up some solid wingers and guys that actually play good defense (like Greene/Larsson)

Really would like to unload Salvador, Volchenkov, Zidlicky from our defensive end and pick up guys like Rozsival (if he's still available), Ian White, Mark Fistric

Solely based on this past season. He really struggles in a lot of areas aside from racking up points.
I didn't really mean 'players we need to get rid of' more like players that need to pick up some slack but are really struggling

For example with Kovalchuk, he averaged 1.1 Giveaways per game, while only averaging 0.27 Takeaways a game. He averaged 0.351 hits per game.. he's also really bad in the faceoff circle considering how good his hands are.. (yes I know he's not a center)
