While true, the fact that contracts are bad in general doesn't justify giving a bad contract.

Are they still considered a bad contract if that is the norm now?

*shrug* guess I'm not willing to accept shitty contracts as the status quo. Must be an entitled thing being a Detroit fan and paying players what they're worth instead of a BS inflated rate because the market is dumb in general.

Datsyuk will be making 7.5M at age 37. Giroux making 750k more at age 26. I don't see any fault in that

Is $15 per movie ticket a perfectly reasonable price because that's the norm in DC?

You are stating an area as opposed to the entirety. If you were to say 15 a ticket across America was the norm, then yes. But the norm across the entirety of the US is ~10.

Get what I am saying? The norm for an elite player across the NHL is on par with what G is getting.

Not for every team. I'm not a big fan of drinking the Kool-aid.

Who has a top 5-10 player that is not on an ELC signed for cheap?\

And Kool-aid is disgusting.

Wings only have good looking contracts with Z and D because of their longterms. As i told you earlier, new contracts to superstar will all be up in the cap hit since the 8 year long limit. Thats what the wanted to do also in the new CBA. So they get almost the same contract, just not the same lenght, therefore your contracts looks better

No one. But cheap and "not overpaid" are different terms. Tavares is arguably top 10 at 5.5 and he's every bit as proven as giroux.
Agents pick and choose which contracts to compare their players to. Flyers just don't seem to want to push back.

not really. Tavares exploded last half season. we will have to see. Giroux shown that he can play on a different level in playoffs as well
