Yeah it was uglier than I thought... when I saw Byron had a hearing for charging I was like ???? isnt he like 5 feet tall ...

But yeah, clearly is mid-air when he makes contact and the contact is entirely shoulder->head.

Mackenzie was moving and had the puck. I think it's a bad timing situation, that doesn't look deliberate at all.

One of his feet left the ice tho, I think its because of that he got suspended 3 games.

Anyway, still a hit a the head.

Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL and meniscus in his right knee, the team announced Wednesday.

Koivu, 35, is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday. He suffered the injury after colliding with Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson in the first period of Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss and did not return.
