Winnipeger and die hard Jets fan checking in.
Pulling Rinne was absolutely the wrong decision. First goal wasn't even poor positioning on his part, just pretty unlucky. Second goal was a bit shaky but that's your ride or die, your number 1 goalie, vezna candidate
and you're gonna pull him after 2? Jets fans are thankful for that awful decision
Rinne’s stick was horrendously positioned on the first goal - stick positioning was the reason the puck went in. Second goal is also inexcusable - on both the D and Rinne - he can’t get beat short side on Stastny’s back hand on a muffin of a shot - Nashville’s D should have kept that chance to the initial shot, though. Rinne was looking shaky on every shot he handled up until that point. 10 mins in is very early to pull your tender, but we have to remember that the Jets hadn’t scored on Saros all series (mind you minimal sample size there). I don’t think the goalie change effected the game in any way - if anything it should’ve fired Nashville up. Nashville came out flat, terrible puck movement, and getting absolutely dominated in the defensive zone.
