Return has been kinda shitty all off-season. That might be the new norm, honestly, as analytics grows up and teams start to succeed based on growing from within instead of trading for patchwork.

50% salary retained by Dallas. Frees up a LOT of room for chicago, which is huge and makes the trade a lot better.

Not on Daley, only on Garbutt who wasn't paid very much anyway. The Blackhawks don't save that much.
