They said he'd be out for the season before the season began. How do you know if he was fully ready 1 month before the playoffs? Even if he was, Tampa isn't forced to rush him back into action if they are in a comfortable playoff position
Cuz it was reported that kucherov was on the ice and practicing with the team in March, way ahead of schedule from his hip surgery. Which is also normal cuz u need to warm up ur legs and start skating as soon as you can so you're not rusty af. Then in April he started practicing with the team with more intensity with a no contact jersey until the playoffs. His first game in playoffs was like as if he didn't sit out the entire season lol.
Hip surgeries are approx 4months on avg, Point and Pasternak took about that time to recover AND had to do what kuchie was doing in March to gain their speed and timing etc. Kuchie was reported to have surgery end of Dec/early Jan. He was already on the ice practicing in March. the beast was way ahead of schedule, and then took another 2 months to "gain back strength, conditioning etc. Etc." just in time for game 1 playoffs. Seguin also had a hip surgery, he actually had it done in Nov (a full month earlier than kucherov) and had exact same estimate as kucherov's return. Instead he wasn't so lucky and his return took much longer, like 6+ months AND YET he was still able to play 3 games before the playoffs began lmao.
If tampa knew kucherov was ready, they are forced to bring him back. The fact that they are in comfortable playoff position is irrelevant to ltir. Idk why this is hard to understand.
