seattle is probably going to be the next expansion city, gretzky been lobbying for it (iirc) but i don't see any way that an expansion right now is do-able, sure, we just got a new CBA, but the economical situational of the league have never been better than ti is right now, especially since the league bought coyotes

adding a new franchise or two will make it a lot more complex

Seattle already have an NBA standard arena that would need massive renovations to support a hockey team. Seattle wouldn't be any closer to the NHL if they got an NBA team.

Seattle's NBA arena is shit. If they got a team it would be tied to the creation of a new, updated arena.

Expand to Seattle. 31 teams, so 16/15. Then close down shop in FLA and we can be 15/15 again

sens more likely to get removed. can't sell out games in canada, small tv market, owner won't spend etc.
