vs. DAL

- I thought we were the better team when looking at chances for/against but we just didn't capitalize on enough opportunities and Lehtonen was very good. We gave up way too many quality chances than I would like but we also created a lot more quality chances than we normally would. Would have been nice to get the 2nd point with the Kings losing on the same night.

- Lack let in a couple weak goals but also made several saves on point-blank shots. He did let in 4 but I'm not sure if he's to blame for this one.

- Sedins had one of their worst games of the season. Not only did they not create much offensively but they were also liabilities in their own zone.

- Kenins - Horvat- Hansen were absolutely dominating for the first half of the game, then for some reason Willie switched Kenins and Dorsett. Horvat's line still played good for the rest of the game but it did eventually seem to kill their momentum. Hard to explain why that line change was made.

- Bonino's line was also very good, with Bonino having one of his best games of the season until the very last shift where he lazily went for a line change that sent Dallas on the odd-man rush for their game-winning goal.

- Horvat, Hansen, Bonino and Vrbata all played more than the Sedins, and deservedly so.

- Edler and Tanev weren't bad overall but they were both at fault for one goal against each. We aren't going to win many games in which this pairing isn't near flawless, which has been the case most of the season.

- Sbisa - Bieksa pairing really needs to go away and fast.

Kassian and Richardson both not on the 4-game trip lol.

Hopefully Kassian can get some games in before the playoffs start. Having him on the 1st line and Burrows down the lineup gives us so much more depth. Burrows instead of Vey on the 4th line gives that line a grinder identity instead of being a mish-mash of players we can't put anywhere else.

Not much hope for Richardson at this point. I'm sure they'll put him in for the playoffs but he played 1 game after a long time off and broke himself again, so I doubt we'll see much more of him til next season.

@ STL

- Awful start again. Got fore-checked hard and trapped in our zone for the first 10 minutes. Fortunately we were able to weather the storm and started playing better as the game went on. The Kings losing on the same night makes a big win even bigger :)

- Lack was very solid, especially in the beginning when the team was on its heels. Calm and in control.

- Sedins were pretty quiet again but I guess you can expect that against a heavy team that checks hard.

- Vrbata is so damn good, I love him. So good B)

- Another good game for the Horvat line. They play very fast and hard, leading to many scoring chances, but aren't always rewarded for their efforts.

- Vey's 4th line had a good game; created a few quality chances and Matthias was able to bury one. However, they are susceptible to prolonged shifts in the D-zone.

- Outside of one terrible giveaway by Edler, he and Tanev were excellent. Also have to point out the great job Weber is doing as the #4. The Sbisa - Bieksa pairing on the other hand is nearing "train-wreck" status.

@ NSH

- Same story, brutal 1st period but then we started playing better in the 2nd. It's like we're using the rope-a-dope strategy on purpose or something. Can't even blame it on the back-to-back because we always start like shit and other teams have come out with a lot of energy whenever we catch them on a B2B. Weird game with all the penalties and back-and-forth scoring. Don't think we deserved it but it's nice to see the boys get rewarded for making a comeback and that big 5-minute PK late.

- Not one of Lack's best games but he held the fort at the end. Looked shaky to start but seemed to settle down as the game went on. I guess it's a good time to use the phrase: "it's not how many, it's when."

- Sedins with their 3rd bad game in a row. Would be nice to have Kassian back with them right now 'cause they aren't even getting much o-zone time.

- 2nd line wasn't as good but Bonino and Higgins did combine (with Burrows) for a beautiful goal on the 2nd unit PP. Bonino and Vrbata were also money in the shootout.

- Another strong effort from the Horvat line. Teams have to put out their better defensive players against our 1st and 2nd lines which allows this feisty 3rd line to dominate their match-up almost every game.

- Nice to see Vey finally get rewarded on the score-sheet.

- Tanev, Edler and Bonino each had over 7 minutes on the PK! Tanev is amazing <3 Weber was good again and Sbisa did some dumb things as usual but logged over 21 minutes.

basically, we somehow win against good teams as usual

then throw and get rekt against non-playoff teams that we SHOULD win against. lol
