Possibly, but depends in what condition he was in, if he went away on his own he might live, if he wouldn't be able to leave on his own, or if he struggled I would probs put him down

no way i could do that to a chipmunk, if it was literally half dead like roadkill then i could

but not when he has a chance to live

like i tried to take him out of the parking lot closer to some trees, but he jumped out of my hand and ran away so there honestly wasn't much i could do

i briefly looked around the area on my way back from lunch and there was no sign of a dead chipmunk so that was nice

You made it seem worse, if he was able to run off no problem he's probably ok. You made it sound like he was weak and would have staggered off

no way that was when i picked him up from inside the store, he literally wasn't moving

he jumped out of my hand, he wasn't exactly moving fast but he was still fine

he was just out of energy, so he was easy prey

i was worried of him dying from getting eaten by something not really from just natural causes
