Good news on several fronts:

Tanev being re-signed makes me so happy. :)

Sounds like Kenins is back in for McMilgod.

Jets

- Both teams had their chances but I thought the Jets were in control in the first half of the game, even excluding their 2 goal lead. We learned last time they visited Rogers Arena that they were very fast, big, tough and physical and they showed it again. Fortunately we started burying our chances and didn't give them a whole lot after obtaining the lead, at least not until they pulled their goalie late.

- Lack was very good covering up for the several breakdowns we had. Our slot was uncharacteristically left open many times. Nice to see him carry on where he left off before Markstrom's start in Arizona.

- Vrbata again, can't say enough about this guy, been on fire since early February. Him being able to produce without the Sedins gives us scoring depth that we desperately need. Higgins has looked like a better fit than Matthias on that 2nd line.

- Horvat had 3 grade-A chances on solo rushes but also missed some assignments defensively that led to quality chances against. His wingers were very quiet throughout the game save for Kenins's pass to Bo that gave him a partial break.

- 4th line had a couple good territorial shifts early but didn't accomplish much. Vey hasn't been awful but we really need Richardson back in that 4C spot to give the line an identity.

- Tanev probably had his worst game of the season. He made 2 big mistakes that led to prime chances for the Jets, which probably matches his big mistake total for the season. I guess he doesn't care anymore now that he's cashed in.

- Power-play has looked good the past couple games with Edler and Weber on the point together but I don't know how long it'll last.

Jordan Subban got nominated for the OHL's version of the Norris. He won't win but still cool :)

Should be same lineup tonight for us.

Would be surprised if we missed the playoffs. Just pray we don't match up with the Kings in the 1st round.

Avs

- Played like complete horse-shit for the first 35 minutes then dominated for the last 25. Unfortunately it was too little, too late after going down 3-0. Don't know what's up with our bad starts but it seems like we only start playing when our backs are against the wall. We've been able to come back in a lot of games but this recipe won't work in the playoffs for a team like ours that can't win face-offs and doesn't have much natural scoring ability.

- Can't blame Lack for this one. He made several tough saves, including a breakaway save right before the 2-0 goal, and didn't have much of a chance on any of the goals against.

- Sbisa might have been our only player who was decent throughout the entire 60 minutes, which kind of tells the story. Weber was good, too, outside of the 2nd goal against where he was lost in the D-zone.

- Just like last game, the 4th line had 3 or 4 strong shifts in the offensive zone but just can't bury the puck.

- Bonino could've easily had 3 points but he's still (seemingly, to me) struggling with his confidence and timing. Just a little off on his passes, passing up shooting opportunities and double-clutching whenever he does shoot.

- Weak game from the Horvat line :(

- Only good thing about our game was the special teams: PK did a great job early when we were being dominated and both PP units are starting to get chances regularly.

I think the final 20-25 minutes was Vancouver playing guilty because they knew they were flat out not good enough for the majority of the game.

If they carry that over vs Dallas we got it.

Hoping Minnesota wins as well.

I do not think anybody wants the Kings in the playoffs. And the fact (as discussed in another thread) that they only have 37 outright wins makes them rather undeserving imo.

It is going to come down to showing up for the entire game..... Something we seem to have a hard time with.
