And that is completely wrong. There is a stark difference between being a few million over due to injury as the rule intended, and intentionally keeping player(s) out until the playoffs begin to exploit the rule. We've all seen the video of kucherov logging full contact practices a month or more before the playoffs, theres no argument he was ready and held out for cap reasons.
