Markstrom shutout in first game back in Utica

- Had full control of the game for the first two periods (outside of the mass PKs) and then we decided not to show up for the 3rd.

- Lack was solid but didn't make too many tough saves.

- Horvat's line was awesome. Horvat and Hansen stood out in particular. I was surprised to see on the stat sheet that Bo only played 12 minutes because he was maybe the most noticeable player throughout the game.

- Nice to have Higgins and Richardson on the 4th line, that's awesome depth.

When asked for comment about his recent scratches, he said:

“Work harder, get more hits.”

Ben Hutton has signed his ELC. He was drafted in the 5th round in 2012 and has been playing in college ever since. I think his season there has ended so he might be joining Utica to finish off the year.

Some consider him our best D prospect (not that we have many good ones). It's possible if you consider Corrado and Clendening as "graduated".

Others believe that Pedan is our best D prospect. He's stepped up his game significantly over the past few months becoming arguably Utica's best player over that time. We acquired Pedan earlier this year from the Islanders in exchange for a 3rd round pick.
