Sorry for the slang what I'm saying is that the NHL refs are like the NFL refs. NFL refs protect the QB and make them untouchable because they are the largest portion of offensive production.

Now with players like McDavid, McKinnon, etc. the refs act the same way. Not only do players not "hit" those players because a goon will fight them from their team but also because they risk a soft call penalty.

So what I'm asking you to envision is Dumba throwing that hit he did on Pavelski on McDavid. Do you really think at home in Edmonton McDavid motionless on the ice after a hit isn't going to warrant at least a minor penalty?

You know damn well at least one Oilers player is going to do what Domi did and start wailing on Dumba right after the hit.

yeah it would be a big deal if mcdavid hit his head off the ice and got a concussion but it would have nothing to do with the hit
the only reason dumba even got a penalty was the injury the hit was clean ive never seen anybody get a "roughing" for a hit penalty he probably got that for defending himself afterwards or just a bogus call because they had to give him something since they already made a call

So the Stars lost Domi for 10 minutes and Pavelski the rest of the game yet Dumba gets out of the box in two minutes and teams play 4 on 4 for two minutes

So the Oilers lost Kane for 10 minutes and McDavid the rest of the game yet Dumba gets out of the box in two minutes? Fuck no it's a double minor on Dumba and the Oilers are on the PP for two minutes

Because McDavid is the NHL's cash cow and the main reason new fans are watching hockey calls will always go his way.

Every time I watch an Oilers game they can barely score an even strength goal but somehow 6 penalties are called and they get 3 PP goals.

There's a reason they'll lose to the Kings and it's because the refs aren't going to give the Oilers the same number of calls as they do during the regular season and the Oilers will choke because of it.

I enjoy every sport less and less as they "pussify" the sport. Something I never thought the NHL would do.

You are an Oilers fan which means you refuse to believe that McDavid receives favorable calls compared to ANY other player in the league.

I don't know if Oilers fans are just so bitter because they can't win in the playoffs but the Oilers are on the PP more then any team in the league?

The Oilers lose in the playoffs because instead of getting 5-6 powerplays a game like they do in the regular season they get 2-3 because refs are more discretionary.

This forces the Oilers to win in their worst scoring department. 5 on 5.

Half of McDavid's points this year were on the PP by the way

edit: It's called preferential treatment for a protected player

Are you stunned? Wcf last year. And in the mcdavid Era we've lost every game 1 opener to the playoffs.
Regurgitating old talking points about the oilers is getting boring. Think of something else please.
Kings had 6pp last night to oilers 3. So what preferential treatment are you talking about

I lol’d 😂

You see Patrick Kane is treated the same way McDavid is but Kaner has 3 Cups to show for it.

I’m from Chicago so I saw the same “preferential treatment” and “questionable calls” that helped the Hawks win a lot of playoff games.

The Oilers just aren’t good enough and the reason I bring up those issues with the Oilers is because they should be good enough to tackle those issues as a team/organization.

6-3 PP advantage for the Kings guess what the Kings coach likely said first. “If we stay out of the box we shutdown the Oilers offense”. We play our game and beat them 5 on 5.

Why are we talking about McDavid in a game he didnt play in?
The hit on pavs was clean, hence no penalty. Domi (being an idiot member of the domi family) defended his teammate and paid the price which was 10 mins in the locker room.
I dont understand what you dont understand about all this?
Are you trying to say the hit should have been a penalty? Because it certainly shouldnt have and didnt. The hit was to the shoulder, dumba didnt leave his feet, etc.
Or are you trying to say that Domi shouldnt have gotten a penalty? Because he certainly should've and did. You don't get to start firing on other players just because a teammate took a (clean) hit...

Mcdavid bitched about the refs, he's not gonna get any favours from them lol. In fact, he's gonna whine instead that he's not getting as many calls in playoffs than he did in reg season to capitalize with their nuts 32% pp.

It was how they handled penalties throughout the game. They got that call right after the review we could all see it was a clean hit but then they miss the most blatant calls the rest of the game.

I understand when a refs view is blocked or they just misjudge something but when Seguin got a stick to the face right in front of the ref it was a no call. Dadonov got tripped in front of the linemen and no call. Mind you the Stars had scored 2 PP goals in 9 seconds of PP time.

It was like the refs just put the whistle away and were scared to just "call the game as is".

My point about McDavid was that he ALWAYS gets the call. Some random 3rd/4th line guy not a chance.

I can guarantee that if McDavid got concussed and helped off the ice by teammates you'd see it differently.

McDavid is the Tom Brady of the NHL he's "unhittable" in the sense that you are more likely to be penalized hitting him then any other player in the league.

So what I was saying was if he got a high shoulder and wacked his head off the ice in Edmonton and a penalty WASN'T called I'd be very surprised. Preferential treatment is for pussies. That's what McDavid gets.
