I don't get why people even do that playing this game. It vibrates when something pops up and makes a noise when you're near a pokestop. I just went for a walk along the tidal basin and caught maybe 25 while hitting 15ish pokestops, didn't slow me down at all. Even visited and enjoyed the FDR memorial for the first time.

The slow walking head down people are just going to be a product of natural selection. They'll slowly be weeded out as they wander into traffic and walk off cliffs.
