Apparently Philly is the only team who offered a full NMC, so that's why he picked them. Was not his first choice. That explains why teams such as Dallas fell out of the running.



If they plan on playing Streit like he's a first pairing defensemen they have a major problem. Schenn is no more a top pairing defensemen than he was in Toronto. Timonen has clearly aged and is no longer capable of what he was even two years ago. Meszaros and Grossmann are both #4s. The defense is still bad.

streit will prob be on the 2nd pairing ... i dont really see the timo-schenn line coming apart
if we keep coburn hes prob paired with him... if not idk prob grossman i think id like mezaros more then grossman

Thomas is 39 - multiple Vezina's + Cup
Khab is more proven than Mason and plays under crap D so he'd fit right in

Perhaps Khudobin + Mason combo would be a better fit ? don't think Khudo is staying in boston

wat. Columbus has significantly better D than philly. Especially this season and Mason was still crap while Bob won the Vezina.

Did you watch Philly last year? Schenn was a monster in the second half of the year posting 25-30 minutes per game. Timonen was his consistent warrior self as well. Streit missed all of 2011-2012 with a shoulder injury so last year wasn't his best time. That said, I fully expect him to bounce back. Who he plays with remains to be seen

Drago and Mystic going at it might very well be the most interesting yet still least informative argument ever.

Regardless, Holmgren will have to do more than IR Pronger and move Schenn to minors for a game or w.e
