Forward a would have been still above average without Lecavalier. Defense is still bottom five with him though. Now they have no room to add a top pairing defensemen.

They still have to be under the cap for training camp with Pronger cap hit which means someones going to be traded before then.

They already did. They Got Streit. Schenn has rocketed to a top pairing d-man since Pronger started mentoring him, and they still got Timonen. You guys forget that Grossmann and Meszaros were hurt the majority of last year which is why our defense was as bad as it was. Even if we deal Coburn they still got a solid, big back end.

What about goalies? a few interesting ones were to become available friday. Is Steve Mason going to do the job..?
