i feel like there is no winning with this teams fanbase when i read twitter lol
they are pissed we gave up a 2nd round pick to dump ghost acting like it was the end of the world over a 2nd rounder
now when fletcher decided to not trade a 1st in a deep draft year to dump 1 year of jvr to have a chance to sign gaudreau they are losing their shit like hes the only good player to ever hit UFA we had to sign him

and they act like all these players were guaranteed to sign here if we offered them a contract thats not how free agency works lol NJD offered gaudreau and he went to cbj hes from NJ theres no guarantee he was coming to philly
and now with the Tkachuk rumours flyers fans are already like we missed gaudreau nowget him go give up half the team for him and hes going to play forward defense and goalie and carry us to the playoffs

personally i dont mind the moves it woulda been nice to get gaudreau but it would have cost a lot with no guarantee and debrincat also a great player but that 9M QO is pretty scary
maybe jvr plays really good under torts and he helps us be a playoff team and if not we can probably retain half and ship him out for assets at the deadline and we have his cap space for next years free agency
and next seasons UFA class is no joke sure it wont have gaudreau but its got guys like kane tarasenko jt miller pastrnak mackinon huberdeau pavelski larkin etc some damn good players that could hit the market

i feel like were an improved team might be one of the only flyers fans that does but we lost giroux thats a lot of offense but we have young guys that looked like they can step up and make up for most of that offense lost
deangelo to fill for ellis should be decent maybe not the best option out there but he should be better then braun was and bringing back braun for the 3rd pair is a good move hes pretty solid just not 1st pair solid but again fans hating on the braun pick up
we filled holes the team had which should improve the team and if ellis does come back healthy thats going to give us good depth on the back end where we might even ship somebody out at the deadline like sanheim whos an upcoming UFA

i dont like the deslaurier deal i think its kinda whack but i see where hes coming from he wants that tough guy to protect the young kids in the bottom 6 we had low amount of fights last season and it felt like the team got pushed around at times hopefully he solves that
i think thats why a guy like macewen became such a fan fav he played a high energy game and he was willing to fight and stick up for teammates and he was one of the only guys that did it felt like

This franchise is a trainwreck.

why do you feel that way? is it because we have a similar team coming into the season as last season? i see that as big concern for a lot of fans
but a lot of last season was injuries and guys not able to fill roles most of the injuries are healthy except ellis which is why we got deangelo we dont have a gaping hole on 1st d pair if ellis is out and if he comes back our d is pretty deep
last season being a throw away we got to play all the young kids and see whos ready and i think our depth is going to look a lot better with some quicker more skilled kids this season because of it

and i honestly think torts surrounded himself with some good people and is able to turn this around AV was in over his head it was so obvious even yeo took over and did better with all the injuries and torts is way better then yeo and his support staff seems legit

and one thing im excited for is to see the powerplay i loved giroux but man our PP has been stale as fuck for like 5 seasons its just give it to G on the wall it was so predictable and easy to play against
plus we dont have yandle out there that should prevent league leading SHGA


i dont think were cup contender but i think we can fight for a wildcard at least if we stay healthy and if not we got a top pick +another 1st rounder and likely have guys to sell at the deadline for more assets clearing more cap space to go hard in FA

flyers fans - fletcher better get tkachuk or fire him what a failure if he doesnt get him hes not doing his job

and then the trade offers i see are laughable no way our team gets better if we do those trades

Vorobyev, 25, could receive as much as 12 years in prison, the report said. He had two goals in 35 career games with the Flyers, and has played in the KHL the last two seasons.

looking at the roster on capfriendly we are going to be running it pretty tight
were 23/23 atm and 2.5mish over the cap but they have fedotov 925k its more likely we see sandstrom 775k and thats +150k cap
we can send down 3 guys i assume attard 883k+seeler 775k+patrick 750k maybe mackewen 925k
thats like JUST enough and were running like minimum players and still have to sign allison hogberg and hodgeson which are RFA we could likely do once ellis is on LTIR

kinda brings me back to why the fuck did we give deslauries 1.7 for 4 years with out him we could probably carry 1 spare player on the roster for injuries
