nice yeah it sounds like hes going to be a pk specialist and torts said in the interview he wants to go out and get specialist coaches for roles he cant do
they want to get a really good offensive coach too that can run the powerplay

sounds like they are shaping up decently

they are saying hes not likely going to be sent to ukraine but they may try to force him to play in russia for a couple more years as military service

what a fucked up situation i bet a lot of russians this draft just dropped hard from this too

pretty good video breaking down cutter gauthiers game and it looks pretty solid
seems like a solid 2 way powerforward that can skate shoot and pass and has high compete level seems like a good all around package

I actually coached a couple of practices for my son's youth hockey team with Tony Deangelo 2-3 yrs ago. He was a great guy. I've heard the rumblings but if he is as good with the Flyers as he was with those youth hockey kids and me the

always thought that contract was a bit sus guy got diagnosed with a cancer during his best season and right out of recovery they give him a 3x3 like he was going to be the same player
it was wishful thinking cause he was not while hes not super bad hes not worth 3m

looks like we get 333k credit this season on top of his salary then next year 666k penalty
thats actually a pretty good buy out tbh and frees up 3.3M cap space

kind of hoping and expecting sandstrom wins the #2 guys put in the work and looks decent but never really gets a chance to show what hes got and was a very promising prospect

Tbh the flyers suck at free agency almost as bad as they do at drafting.

yeahh idk about the deslaurier deal i dont mind picking him up but 4 years til hes 35? guys a 4th liner 1.7x4 years seems nuts
deangelo but cant help but think he checks off a lot of what we need if ellis isnt 100% he can play top 4 and help the powerplay
i like bringing back braun to sure up that 3rd pair its looking solid york-braun sure beats yandle-seeler


a lot are pissed that fletch didnt trade the panthers 1st+jvr to dump his contract and sign gaudreau like he was guaranteed to come here even the interviews they were like " did you not feel it was worth trading jvr+1st for a player of gaudreaus ability"
what if he gave u the 1st to dump jvr and gaudreau didnt come here? then he looks like an even bigger idiot and threw away a first rounder for nothing
at this point im fine sitting on jvr maybe he bounces back under torts 2-3 seasons ago he looked like our best player and worst comes to worst we trade him at deadline 50% retained or something and with farabee out maybe he plays 2nd line LW to start out

i think we are going to be better simply due to health couts should be back healthy if we get ellis back at any point thats huge but if not deangelo should fill in the top 4 better then braun and if ellis comes back our D is pretty deep
plus yandle isnt there to lead the league in negative goal differential i really think that threw away so many games last season he was the cause o so many goals from give aways and just shit defense


i dont think were cup contenders but i think the team should be able to at least be in the fight for a wild card if the team stats healthy
and im not super big on deangelo but i like the move it makes sense he can fill the ellis roster spot in case hes not ready so we dont bump up braun to the 1st pair for the season and actually have a solid 3rd pair
and if ellis does come back and hes healthy our D is pretty deep and we can probably trade deangelo for some picks or something at the deadline /offseason
