Willie on scratching Kenins:

Quote
“He hasn’t played as well the last three games and he was so good early,” Desjardins said of the 24-year-old Kenins. “That’s the tough part for a young guy. Sometimes you get in and get a little comfortable and want to do a little more and maybe he’s trying to do a little bit too much right now.”

Couldn't agree more. He gets too cute sometimes. Needs to be a straight-line energy player 100% of the time.

One of the few scratchings I agree with.

Kenins may be in, Higgins questionable. I believe he's ill.

Baertschi with 3 assists in 2 games with Utica. Both wins and he was 2nd star in both games.

Bo Horvat walks the earth.

This team sure knows how to make it's fans sweat.

@ SJS

- Got outplayed but most of the bounces went our way: goal disallowed that shouldn't have been, Marleau missed an empty net tap-in and pucks getting behind Lack but not in the net. Absolutely huge win when it comes to the standings but it's not exactly how we want to play going forward.

- Lack was our best player again. Gave us a chance to win, especially after we went down 2-0.

- Not the best game from the Sedin line but they made it count when it mattered on that 4-on-3.

- The Hansen - Horvat - Dorsett line only played 14 minutes but they were effective. Horvat was one of our best players, easily. Nice to see him bounce back in a big way.

- Vrbata is such a beast, I love this guy. I think he and Bonino might be cooking up some chemistry, so I hope they stay together for a while longer. Not sure if Matthias is going to work on that line but he was a little more involved in the play today.

- Burrows, Vey and McMillan were pretty much out there to kill time whenever they got an even strength shift.

- Edler played a ton but wasn't as solid as we're used to this season. I'll give him a few more games to shake off the rust.

- The Hamhuis - Sbisa pairing played a tough 23 minutes. Sbisa was solid again other than one shift where he made a bad turnover and then took a penalty.

- Weber left the game after taking a big hit in the corner. My guess would be that it's a shoulder injury. If Corrado gets up called and takes Weber's spot beside Edler it's not much of a loss.

I think a lot of Edler not playing well is missing his partner in Tanev,

Definitely. Big part of the reason we look like a mess in our half of the ice.
