One benefit out of all of this.

Less traffic tomorrow when I go to work.

However from what I have read in regards to regulations and comments made on this forum I do not know how long I will be working for.

I work for a large conglomerate that has over 25k employees worldwide. I don't think they are going to risk a PR nightmare by forcing us to keep working.

Depends on the employer. Some wont pay if you leave but EI is opened for those who quarantine with valid reason from what I heard.

Where I work if I meet any of the federal or provincial government quarantine reason they will force me to take off with full pay.

I will be working the next 2 weeks from home since schools and daycares are closed (have 2 young daughters to care for)

** for quebec canada

That is one good thing that will come out of this.

At least it will give people with young children a chance to spend time with them.

Between work and having the kids away at school there is not enough family time imo.

Our taxes are going to shoot through the roof.....

Makes me worried. Everyone who is going to receive EI and other benefits will increase our debt load and you can bet our government will be looking to recoup those overages.

Furthermore, my previous employer is unresponsive in sending me my T4'S and I can not access the CRA website online for whatever reason.

I am worried I won't be able to send in my tax information on time because of this, or that it may not be accurate with the limited information I have.

The CRA terrifies me and I do not want to be audited even though I have nothing to hide. I don't have all my papers in order since I moved.

EI is already paid by everyone though, like when you get your paycheck you're paying a portion to your EI.

I am fearful our irresponsible government has not prepared for a rainy day and those funds will be depleted before all payouts can be administered.

If that happens the bill will have to be paid somehow......

this virus isn't deadly to the point everyone has to stay in, and afk for years and go full walking dead.

It's highly contagious, like everybody in the world can get it at 100%, but most of us will survive it. In a year or two, there will be a vaccine and no one's gonna give a fuck about it as per usual.

It's only the unhealthy/edlerly i'd be srsly worried about at this point, so the hardest part would be not being able to visit them and shit. Though it's 2020, time to teach em how to face time ;)

EI is also capped at like 550+ a week, and that's only for people that maxes out the yearly 54k cap. Depending on people's wage, they'd make accordingly less depending on that.

Few of my friends got the fever as high as 39/40, coughs, runny nose but they're all better now. I think whatever they had is a lot worse than the coronavirus if it wasn't that. They called 811, and they pretty much told them that their symptoms are too mild to get tested, so there's that too.

But i agree, the government is irresponsible and waste a lot of money on useless shits. Hell even local city taxes are inefficiently used, i can only imagine how worse the government is mismanaged

don't u love the Vancouver PD having hundreds of millions of dollars except they can't do anything about the thieves and the addicts stealing and breaking shit everywhere? or stop barely any of the fentanyl that causes mass deaths? now that's a waste of money
