Note the draft year. It was more common back then because teams didn't have a lot of sight into prospects unless they went in person to some remote part of the country. We live in an information era where all the film you need for a player is on YouTube.

You might see it for goalies but skaters are becoming scarce as steals.

Very true HOWEVER everyone above those draft years can't be inducted into the HHoF yet cuz they're still playing or just recently retired :D
There's tons of examples I can pull up (future HHoF'ers that were drafted 3rd+)

Hard to tell if a player drafted this decade is a future HHoF'er tho - besides a few obvious ones

From 1982 to 2000, only 23% of players picked in the 3rd round played more than 200 games in the NHL. It's obviously even less if you consider the rounds 4+. Getting a NHL player at that point is kind of a crap shot.

Except Tom was talking specifically about this year's draft, and he said most - not all. So finding a few hhofers doesn't really prove him wrong.

Dreger says Lecavalier will NOT sign in a "hockey-crazed" market and says the front runners are the San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars.

He just said this on TSN radio.

E: Wrong thread, but still relevant in this one..

Can anyone explain me WTF is happening with Ballard? Not on the type of waivers that a player goes on to be bought out?

I thought in the new CBA, players buried in the minors will still count against the cap?
