Well the particular place that was there is a bylaw prohibiting exotic animals as pets, but it doesn't exist in all of Toronto, most of Ontario for that matter. But animal control raided the house, seized the animal and shipped it off to a sanctuary. The woman from that place was arrogant saying "She broke the law, primates are not allowed as pets in Canada, the monkey is in a much better spot it is never going back."
Well not only did she say some false things (It's not illegal, it's just restricted in some municipalities), but the owner is a wealthy real-estate lawyer who is obviously going to sue. And with how cheap Toronto politicians are, they're obviously going to relent and give it back.
