The last three games for the Stars have ended 4-3. Splitting with the Canucks and losing to the Flames in between. That's now two losses in a row and stuck at 17 points, which is 9th in the Western Conference and out of the playoffs right now.

Stars need to regroup and beat the Sharks (19 points, 6th seed) on Saturday Night, and then they need to beat the Predators (21 points, 4th seed) on Monday Night. Those are two teams they have to catch in the standings. As bad as Dallas has played recently, especially on defense and the penalty kill, they've been in every game and I don't see anything a winning streak couldn't cure.

Ironically, the Stars are 11th best in penalty kill this season but these past handful of games they haven't looked like it. They were 8th a week ago.

Just need to put last night's game in the rear view mirror. It's a shame they were unable to pull the goalie to try and tie it up the final two minutes because the Canucks ended the game on a power play. All they did was pass the puck back and forth in the Stars zone and back to center ice to milk the clock all the way down to 0.00

With this shortened season the Stars can't afford not to be picking up points for two or three games that often.

Any chance the Stars can acquire Mike Green from the Capitals before the trading deadline? Washington fans are sick of him and want him gone judging by their message board. He apparently has a glass body and is always injured. He missed last night's game against the Devils (big surprise).

Not to say I want a guy whose lack of toughness is always questioned, but we could use that defensive help and he is a two-time all star that is still very much in his prime at 27 years old. I'm assuming he'll be difficult to acquire though. As the Capitals management probably doesn't feel the same way about him as their fan base, who would gladly trade him for a bag of peanuts according to one post.

problem with fanbases are that if they dont score 60 goals or have 100pt, fight every game, throw big hits every game they are "useless and worth a bag of peanuts"

e/ i could see green be moved though, idk how effective he'd be in stars, he was a product of bäckström and ovie imo

Caedus was mentioning the possibility of acquiring some defensivemen help the other week.

I hope the Stars are able to improve before the trading deadline at 3 PM Eastern on Wednesday, April 3

But that's only 27 days until the playoffs start on April 30. That wouldn't give them much time assuming they even make the playoffs. But even if it's just to improve the team for next year that's still good. I'd rather see the Stars make a trade well before the trading deadline (next few days or weeks).

Because if they're going to wait until the deadline to make a move that may be too late to make the playoffs. They're going to be on the cusp all year long as it is.

Any chance the Stars will beat the Sharks tonight? I must admit, with Kari Lehtonen still out with the groin injury I'm doubting their chances. Cristopher Nilstorp is just not good enough. He's already 0-3-0 with a 3.16 goals against average. Sample size I know, but he shows me very little.

0-0 and almost the end of the 1st period. Stars have a power play coming up. Maybe this will wake them up. It's been a snoozer of a game so far.

Cristopher Nilstorp, LOL

He came so far up ice to start the push on the power play. That was risky... But Dallas didn't score.

The final 30 seconds of that 1st period were exciting at least.

Jaromir Jagr. You can't stop the old man. What a beast especially on the power play. Finally the Stars score.

The Stars are taking a 1-0 lead into the 2nd intermission.
