I don't see this team being a contender for a while

Our development system sucks
Bergy and krejci are about to hit 30 years old

It's a simple fix.
Keep Claude, BUT give him what he needs. a fucking defense
His style is defensive.
We will always have two solid forward lines as long as we have Krejci & Bergeron. Our 3rd can be plugged in, 4th is 4th. Give Vatrano Pastrnak & Griffith the 82 game season, maybe Acciari.

Don't re-sign Eriksson, try to get rid of McQuaid & Connelly. Lets face it, we can't get rid of Chara, though he did have a pretty damn good season.

Let these FA's walk:
Eriksson
Liles (take back if cheap)
Kelly
Talbot
Morrow
Trotman
Connelly
Stempniak (take back if cheap)
Gustavsson
Randell

Re-sign these FA's:
Krug
Both Millers
Smith
Ferraro
& try to lock up Marchand/Pastrnak/Spooner

Next year I'd like to see this lineup under Claude:
Marchand-Bergeron-(Stempniak)
Beleskey-Krejci-Pastrnak
Griffith-Spooner-Vatrano
Ferraro-Acciari-Hayes

Chara-K.Miller
Krug-C. Miller
Seidenberg-McQuaid
^Based on what we have right now.

None of the young defencemen stepped up and stood out

Chara and Seids are done in Boston, whether they can move them or not I don't know. Chara has a nearly 7mil cap hit next season but drops to 4mil the season after, he can still play some solid shut down but can't be relied on to the the 1D any more.
Maybe a team with some cap space could take him for the vet presence, shut down and the draw of having Chara.. plus the Bruins would likely retain some 16-17 salary.(Please note that this is just entertaining the Chara being traded scenario, not what I think is happeneing..) Seidenberg may have to die in boston.

I like Krug, but he's at his ceiling. At this point he relies on having offensive time to earn his weight and with a defence as decimated as the Bruins' he has to have more defensive stance and it's not his skill set.

The rest...

As for the forwards.

Krejci, Bergeron, Marchand, Loui and Belesky all had good seasons. Not sure if I see Eriksson signing in Boston or not, I'd say it's 30/70 at the moment. (In favour of not signing.)

We'll see a shake up of many of the forwards on all lines, There's a half dozen that are in negotiations this summer and many are low number easy to move and deal with.

Rask was all over the map this year again, it's hard when your defence is undependable.

Senyshyn scored 45G in 66 games this season, Zboril looks like he's going to be a good 2 way dman but he's got a bit of work to do defensively, Debrusk is the new Krejci, just on the wing.

This team will need a few years of retooling to get competitive again.

Krejci sidelined 5 months after his hip surgery

Hopefully he comes back without much restriction

Vesey's rights acquired by Buffalo, but there's still hope that he signs in Boston. He is only restricted to signing with Buffalo until Aug 15, and both teams can only offer a max contract.

It comes down to who he wants to play for, Boston is Vesey's dream, but Buffalo has a couple nice pieces including Eichel to play with.

He already said no to the preds and it's believed that the preds dealt his rights to Buffalo instead of Boston because of the cold shoulder.
