There’s no reason not to play Lucas rn. He will probably be the most valuable/contributing >20 year old in the league, and playing on the Red Stinks will only help. The more experience he can get while he’s younger will only help him later on as well.
He's ready for the NHL. Having him play against lesser competition in a lesser league will only hamper his development. An arguement could be made for the AHL, but i think we're gonna give him his 9 games and see how it goes. If he's struggling he'll probably get sent down so his ELC can slide a year. If he shows he can hang, then the NHL is definitely the best place for him to continue developing into the star player he has the potential to become.
