This comment from Vegas' GM George McPhee on Stone is going to sting for Senators fans: "Players this good aren't available through trade very often. Usually you draft a player like this, and you hold onto him and he plays his whole career with you."

Since Dorion became the GM back in April 2016 he has traded away the following players : Mike Zibanejad, Kyle Turris, Derrick Brassard, Mike Hoffman, Erik Karlsson, Matt Duchene, Ryan Dzingel and Mark Stone. In some cases players were traded one for another ( ex Zibanejad - Brassard and Turris-Duchene ) but that's still a ridiculous group of players to trade away in a span of three years lol.

i mean any GM probably would have no choice but do that if their owner is too cheap to pay. That or, just quit/get fired
but yeah NHL needs to do something about it, it's not right for the city/fans. They should force Melynk to sell the team or some shit to a owner with $$$$$$$

Yeah I don't think Dorion is a good GM but it's hard to evaluate him with an owner like Melnyk. Even before the fire sale, every trade he made was money driven.

Nashville won, what’s Minnesota doing dealing in the division like that.

In 4 years when stones overpay should be coming down to a better % with rising cap his foot speed is gonna catch up and make that contract ugly for Vegas.

Division isn't AS bad as some people make it out to be, it's all about who you're going to be challenging for seeding in the division.

and in that aspect the Wild are retarded, they traded to the team that as of right now is gonna play them first round

Seemed like every contender that added a player filled a need and did it at a fair or even cheap cost.

Hayes to WPG was fair
NSH got Granlund for very cheap, almost makes it feel like Simmonds was a free add-on
Vegas got a signed elite forward in his prime for just 1 top prospect + 2nd
SJS got Nyquist for a few picks that didn't even include a 1st
BOS added 2 solid middle-6 players for a 2nd, 4th, 5th and Donato (fair if not cheap)

TOR and CGY were the losers as they were the only contenders that didn't really do anything (Tampa didn't either but they didn't need to). I know Toronto added Muzzin earlier but IMO he wasn't the best target just due to handedness.

CBJ will probably be the biggest losers in the very end. Chances are they lose Panarin, Bobrovsky, Duchene and Dzingel all together along with all the picks and prospects they gave up to get the Sens rentals.

Oh, and Minny lost for selling all their players for less than they're worth lol.
