there should be no retaliation on that hit, it was a clean hit, russell is changing directions and dipping to move to the left and gets hit, dosent touch his head dosent board him, just a regular hit, but he decided he needed to lay on the ice to sell the call and thats when luc starts with his bullshit

Even i like the fighting, bone crushing hits, and general roughness of hockey. But that was way out of order. Nowhere near the play, and mad cause bad... i agree, he def should get raked over the coals for this. He should know how to compose himself on the ice, by now... but when you start being that bad, maybe i too would get that mad... who knows. Poor kid who got pounded though... hope that didnt shake him up too much.

Yeah they pretty much have to suspend him... you cant intentionally target a guy without the puck and try to hit him. Not suspending him leads to a lot of potential for dangerous, reckless hits. I didnt even think the hit Lucic was responding to was that egregious, Russel tried to do a sell job and the ref saw through it. But maybe they should force the Oilers to play Lucic because that would be a bigger punishment

I don't think anyone needs forensic equipment to figure out that pushing a guy into the boards through the numbers is considered dirty, no matter the intent or how vicious it may seem

hockey is a dirty sport though

and if you're going to shove a player from behind into the boards, prepare to deal with it imo
