Hit was fine, thinking it's because of intent/retaliatory.

Pettersson scored using Matheson as a screen earlier in the 2nd.
Was in a race for the puck with each other resulting in Matheson ending up on his ass and sliding into the boards.
Just before the hit Matheson falls over trying to keep up with Pettersson.

if it was a little over the line i would understand but this is 100% clean

The hit isn't the problem, nobody is mad about the hit.

People are mad about the can opener/slam.

He finished his hit, the puck was long gone. He made Pettersson aware that he was going to get hit if he stuck around too long.

Leave it at that, the slam was completely unnecessary. He was already falling on his ass after the hit because he's got a stick between his legs.

it happens all the time subban does it regulary and no one talks about it. lets be honest here if petterson wasnt injured they wouldnt even have considered a hearing

Happening all the time doesn't make it not a dangerous play.

Concussions are no joke.

no one is saying theres no danger in it.. kids just got unlucky to hit his head on the ground just like it can happen on any other open ice hits or big hits period. if league wants to ban it than do so but dont give an hearing to just because there was an injury on the clean play (by nhl rules). thats plain dumb

and ive had 4 concussions in my life so i know that dont worry
