Ya, but that's why it was fun! It was cartoony and totally over the top, that's the point. Having overt social commentary doesn't make it a write off, and besides, that crazy ending made very clear that this wasn't in fact some Marxist feel-good revolt film. They summed it up by saying that if the under class isn't adequately oppressed then the system won't work. It tricked you into thinking it was a film about the proletariat vs bourgeoisie, but it aint.
