Flyers after Bobby Ryan. Anaheim wants Coburn and the 11th overall.

Coburn sucks, that'd be a steal for the Flyers imo. It would obviously depend how that 11th overall pick would turn out ofc. Also, Flyers needs defense, not offense.. That deal doesn't make much sense imo.

If flyers deal for a scorer they can trade accordingly to get defensive forwards and do more specialization. They have a lot of offense, yes, but it's really spread out. Getting Ryan would consolidate it a bit and open up the roster for role players. If they make good moves afterwards it could be really beneficial.

too many decent d-man prospects will be available at 11. I dont think the Flyers can afford to trade that pick unless they get a good D in return

They're still shopping Read and other forwards, and I'm sure plenty of teams would trade a D for him. The move would make them vulnerable until such a trade is mad though.

Coburn was Philadephia worse D this year, he was awful. And while the Flyers does have a good number of capable NHL defensemen, they're all pretty.meh outside of Timonen ( and Streit maybe ). The best for them would be do make a quantity for quality trade with a team who are short on D.

the only dman flyers would need is a top 15 elite d man that any team could use the flyers d isnt as bad as you guys act
as of right now we got 6 guys making 3.5m+ thers no need for that when we got young guys that can come up and play good for like 900k or less
we dont have many true proven top 6 forwards... we got about 7m to play with and if we trade a dman his salary can be used/swapped for another forward
we might even trade 2 dmen
