India just built the largest solar plant and it produces 648MW and it cost $679M
Shepard Energy Centre creates 873MW out of a $1.4B site/ is n.gas fired
so for the cost of one shepard site producing 873 MW they can build 2 solar plants which would essentially be 1296MW
factor in some modifications for our climate etc. if you will, but at the end of the day we can push more power for less money with solar
On Dec. 8, 2016 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., Alberta was using a record hourly average amount of electricity at 11,442 MW. This surpassed the Wednesday, Dec. 7 record of 11,404 MW, and the Monday, Dec. 5 record of 11,400 MW.
See. That plant is no where near sufficient enough for Alberta.
O wait. You gonna suggest rolling blackouts?! Haha
Still 100 years away from anything like this being feasible in Canada.
