Is no one else starting to feel like the people spouting off about how "THIS WASN'T IN THE BOOKS" or "THIS WASN'T IN THE SHOW" are literally becoming the worst human beings alive?

Get it through your skull that books are different from TV shows. You can't get everything you want because guess what, every single fucking person who read the books liked different things about them and visualized things differently. Find something a bit less pathetic to whine about.

In the books BB mello is a nice guy but in real life he's an asshole

I prefer the book version

it's impossible to talk about the show around people who have read the books

they are literally the most insufferable people on the planet, second only to habs fans

Not always the case lol

A few years ago I hadn't read anything and I had 2 roommates who had read the entire series

A whole year went by without them spoiling anything, all the while they provided amusing/relevant information

I haven't read the books but I can understand why book readers are upset.

Unfortunately TV audience aren't interested in all the background detail. They want action. Personally I thought episode 5 was a great episode due to all the story. You go to reddit and people are "I just want Dragons and fighting"

I wish I was a reader, I have the books. I just get bored. I also wish the show would go into more detail. I believe they're on a 7 year/7 season timeline though.

That's the evolution of a book elitist. At first they're just happy it has a show. Then a few seasons in they start nitpicking the most superficial things.

Learn your lesson from the last 30 book adaptations that fell short. It's a different medium and things work differently.

BUT THE SHOW WAS MAINLY ON POINT WITH THE BOOKS UNTIL THIS SEASON!

I get that they will leave certain things out and go in different directions (like Tyrion and his little dwarf lover) but there are some major events being left out now. That's pretty much what we're discussing
