Called crowd crush, and it's a big reason why the vast majority of large events have metal barriers splitting crowds into 2-3+ groups instead of just one big mass. People in the center of these things sometimes can't even breath properly because there are too many people in an enclosed area all just inhaling air at the same time.

120+ dead from ppl celebrating halloween... too many ppl showed up (100k+) at a narrow road and probably crushed/trampled ppl to death.

I think covid restrictions finally being lifted, a lot of ppl were excited to hang out after a long time. That area is like a trendy/popular area with bunch of bars and clubs for early 20s crowd. There's another rumor that a famous celebrity was at a bar, so bunch of fans showed up which made it even worse
