We played our consolation game last night, our whole team showed up and the other team had 2 people, lol. So we loaned 3 guys to them and the goalie from the championship team stayed to play with them. It was as close as a "sticks in the middle for teams" game as you get at this age and it was the most fun I've had playing in years.

One of the two refs played goalie for us cuz the other one (who is our normal goalie) plays for both teams. He'd never played hockey before, took the ref gig cuz the rec center gave him free entry into basketball. Lost 8-5 but he must have blocked 30 shots, it was pretty impressive for a first timer.

Played in a beer league game on Monday earlier this week, and we played some 18-19 year old kids who thought they were hot shit. I don't normally play in this league but a buddy asked me to sub and I said sure. A d man on their team who naturally wore a cage started to get really really heated once we put a few in on them, so he started to talk shit to me non stop. I would just laugh and skate away.

By the time the 3rd period came around the kid was losing his mind.. Yelling from the bench, he would start telling me about how he played college hockey, and at one point he got so mad, he actually told me to go home and Google him so I would know whats up.... Fucking l-o-l. We won like 10-4 anyways, but what a fucking chirp lmfao.. "Google me and see who I am"

Subbed in a league last week and someone tried to start a fight with one of our defensemen. Because he "boarded" the guy into the TARP dividing the basketball courts. He didn't, he's a big guy, the dude tried to step around him and failed then he whined.
It's a rec hockey league that costs a whopping $65.
