they took turns going up to give a quick speech at the beginning congratulating the couple and ended with don't forget to vote for me in the next election then left, probably to go to another wedding

I'll say not all are like that though. I didn't know O'Toole before 2015 but the guy has done a lot of shit outside of politics and approaches his office with a very grounded outlook, he actually understands he has a job to do after bejng elected. Shame he got the Night of Long Knives treatment as leader. He had a raw deal as leader due to his lack of name recognition and the base getting too nutty.

I also met Stephane Dion a couple of times. Guy is really smart and thoughtful but too much of a fuckin nerd, not surprising he never stuck in a political position for long.

Gotta say tho, I haven't met a single BC Lib who I didn't think was at least 90% slime lol. I volunteered for Harry Bloy, who promised everyone who worked for him glowing letters of recommendation for jobs, school applications, etc. Couple years later and the guy had like three separate scandals to his name lol.

Oh yeah, and I also volunteered for Jagmohan Singh, who achieved the tremendous feat of getting fined by the provincial real estate board for professional misconduct.

Carla Qualtrough used to be my MP and when the IRCC was being totally useless during my wife's application I reached out to her office and her staff was VERY helpful. Signed up for notificatiosn when department receive my application, didn't get one for 3 months after Canada post dropped it off with signature. Called the IRCC and every time after being on hold for 2+ hours they would just say "you gotta wait". Meanwhile on forums people who submitted their application months after me were saying their application status has been updated to "Received". Finally asked Qualtrough's office for help via email. One of her admin staff called me and asked for the situation, said she would call the IRCC for me. The very next day my status of application became "received".
