I have a friend in social work. If you go into working with kids get ready to ride the feel train. She says in her office it's normal for people to trade clients to each other so they won't smack a shitty mother in the face or something.

Meh. I had zero business background going into this job and doubled my salary in three years with a possibility of getting into a program to get me to be a supervisor in two or three more. Only reason I took the job is cuz it's all about trying to make sure money from things like welfare isn't abused, or going to terrorists, or whatever. If you find an organization you support, learning how to do the work is easy.
