It's exactly the same. Just shows league bias tbh
Not really, cuz nichuskin was involved in the play.
Nichuskin's skates are in the O zone as the puck crosses the blue line, which is offside. It is determined that Makar does not have control of the puck, so the offside is delayed to give the Avs a chance to touch the blue line before touching the puck. Before Makar touches the puck, Nichushkin's skates touch the blue line, and no other Avs player has both skates over the line. This wipes out the delayed offside, allowing Makar to touch the puck without a stoppage in play.
For mcd, his skates are in the ozone as the puck crosses the blue line, which is offside. It is determined that McDavid does not have control of the puck, so the offside is delayed to give McDavid a chance to touch the blue line before touching the puck. McDavid touches the puck without returning to the blue line beforehand, therefore offside should be called, and the play is dead before the goal.
I said it was dumb as fuck for deeming makar not having control cuz it was like an inch off his stick. Ppl said they're consistent word for word by the rule book. They're just going by it again, with the same definition, mcd is offside cuz he didn't have his teammate to neutralize the call
