My Albertan friends constantly brag about having their own family doctors. Sigh.

I only have a doctor because I never told him I moved to Victoria... so when I came back to Van it was as if nothing had happened kek

Yee. I walked into a walk in with a 5 min wait couple weeks ago. But the hospital system is messed up. When I have to take my kids to emergency I drive an hour out of town to get a 0 min wait instead of staying in the city with a 4-5 hour wait.

that is one of the problems in USA(might be just Florida), if your company changes insurance companies, you need to change doctors if they're not in network to save money and most aren't taking new patients

Where around Calgary do you drive for that!? Any hospital within 100k of edmonton are hours of wait times.



Also, I have a "family" Dr if you will. But he's mostly there to do checkups and referrals when I need a specialist. Nothing more. Because if I call to book him asap it's a 1-2week wait at least.
