Looking to buy a non-local car from a dealership (it's on the Island).
Anyone know what kind of questions I should be asking the dealership over the phone on my initial call :P they do have a price listed on the website.
Who was the previous driver(s). You want to avoid previous curtosy/daily rental cars. Also if it's a recent-ish car try to avoid if purchased at an auction. (Ex: a ford returning from a lease, If in decent shape they will keep the car and resell themselves. But if it's in shit shape they will sent it to an auction and a used car store will buy it from the auction and sell it themselves)
If they have any maintenance records
If they have a copy of the Carfax and verify if it has any accident/repair history. 100% verify the Carfax
If they add any admin/delivery fee on the contract and it's not listed on their online price or in the description online tell them they failed to mention that in their price listed and to remove it
Generally avoid any extra insurance/warranty they will try to sell you
Test drive it and turn off music and pay attention to any weird sound
