Not so bad

Craig Anderson’s injury might not cut as deep as the Senators originally feared.

The prognosis for his return was not good after the Senators goalie severed a tendon in his small finger Wednesday night, then had surgery Thursday, On Friday, GM Bryan Murray told reporters his injury might not be long-term.

“We were told (Thursday) it was going to be some period of time. (Friday) we got a little better news. As soon as he feels comfortably he can handle a stick, he’ll be back on the ice, probably as early as next week,” said Murray.

“When he can handle a stick, he can probably get ready to play. There’s no time frame. We’re optimistic that it won’t be a long, long time.”

The Senators are preparing for a pair of weekend games, against the Boston Bruins on Saturday and the New York Islanders Sunday.

Alex Auld confirmed to the Sun he will start Saturday versus the Bruins.

Auld gets his chance to show what he is capable;e of and i assume Lehner will start vs the Islanders

I sure hope not, he has been horrible in the minors this year. If Auld plays decent, I'de much sooner let him continue. (win or lose vs Boston)

Bingo are awful this season. Lehner pretty much have to face 40+ shots every games.

Hes going to face 25+ either way, and thats NHL level shots. I'de rather have a goalie who is a career #2 but can play strong positional hockey at this point. (not that Lehner can't be good, but I'de say Auld is the smarter choice)

Coach already said earlier in the year that Lehner wouldn't be seeing NHL hockey till he can prove he can play AHL again, his ''back up'' down there has better numbers that he does.

(Not Lehner bashing btw, I hope he can be that good eventually, but hes not showing it right now)

Isn't Lehner 2-0 in his NHL career? lol

I know he's 1-0 for sure
