Seeing how this is the off-topic forum... I got a question for anyone with any medical background...

I have a 'growth' coming out the side of my foot. It's hard to the touch. It's been rubbing up against the inside of my hockey skates now. What do

It's a corn.
Nothing to be alarmed about. It's normal. Body defensive mechanism.
You can have them surgically removed eventually. But doesn't matter. I get them from steel toes 12 hours a day.

Good to know, thanks for the info.

To everyone else super confused... it's not like it sticks out of my skin a distance or is very noticeable at all. The only reason I noticed it, was because it started rubbing on the side of my skate.

Then you are mistaken, I have calluses this isnt a callus... it's hard. It wasnt caused by my skates, but the reason I noticed it was because of my skates ya dig?

Just go to the doctors. I think I know what you're talking about, just not the name. They can do a day surgery to remove it and you might miss a week of hockey and you're good to go. It's nothing serious other than the discomfort it gives.

Bone spur I guess is the name for it, atleast according to a guy at work. I took a shot off my foot like 3-4 months ago and potientially that is what is causing it... The reason I was asking here is because I wasnt that concerned about it, I didnt think it warranted a trip to the doctor or for them to operate on it but just wanted to be sure

One of the guys I work with has a hack saw and a blow torch, I'd prefer to save the tax payers dollars. Please confirm and we will operate immediately.
