d2 was all about PVM, you are delusional if you think otherwise. D3 will never be about PVP, and it was never intended to be.

Essentially. You get Paragon levels after level 60. Which increases base stats and mf/gf slightly per level. But that is a long process and a real grind. But atleast it gives a bit of motivation to sorda get another level. I LOVED this game going through normal/nm/hell. But once inferno hit the game got stale for me.

All you can do is farm once you get to inferno unfortunately. The problem is there is not enough itemization in the game, so it is hard to get creative; combine that with a limited skill set and that is why I burned out. Not to mention I had a wicked mf/gf gear that gave me wicked res/dps/hp etc. Then they capped mf/gf and the gear became near worthless.

I never even made it to level 60. Got bored in Act 1 Inferno.

And yeah skillset was a huge problem. They said it would get rid of cookie cutter classes but it just means that all characters play the same no matter what runes you use.

Disagree completely. You need minimal gear to clear PVM mobs in D2. The real expense was in PVP. You could make a cookie cut hammerdin that could clear everything np for ~100-150 fg. You farmed PVM so you could buy gear for PVP. That was the point, atleast for me for me.

I spent fg on my chargin with funds made from my gf barb. The goal (for many) was to make a strong PVP char. Having a strong PVM char was np and super cheap, unless you wanted an extravagant char like a gf barb with bells and whistles. So you are delusional to say 'd2 was all about PVM"

D3 needs PVP or the game will burn out, what do you think kept D2 going for so many years.... PVP. Not PVM.

Doesn't matter what the expense is. There were literally less than 20k people who cared about dueling in D2 and took it seriously, even when 1 mil were still playing the game. Obviously your opinion is skewed by the fact that you're on d2jsp, where every single person who dueled is. I don't think you realize just how small the dueling community is/was. It's like saying porn will die because they banned necrophilia or something. That's how niche dueling is. There's far better games for testing your skills against other people than Diablo "click shift left click once and opponent dies" 2.
