Yeah so applying for 2K+ one bedrooms in Victoria isn't even a slam dunk if you have a well paying job and nobody else to tag along. I've even been given bizarre excuses after sending in applications, like "oh hey we decided to rent to an old buddy who just showed up" and "sorry we lost your application".

Guess I'm just gonna chill in Richmond until one of the old fucks telling me that I have to show up in an office to do my job properly comes to drag me there.

You know "Langford's first high-rise" that was structurally condemned a couple of years ago? Now they're renting 575 sqft suites for $1900. They don't even have an occupancy permit yet.

I got a buddy that lives up in Cobble Hill/Lake Cowichan and commutes in.

Even as far as Duncan 1 beds are like 1.5K minimum. I might as well rent in Vic, ditch the car, break even and save 2 hours every weekday lol

i was originally going to rent out my 2 br condo in richmond for 2.1k because i thought that was fair, my property manager said he thinks he can get 2.4k

i said sure if u can get anything higher than 2.1k i don't really care, as long as it's normal people and not some crazies

he got me tenants in like 3 days but they're only short-term because they bought a place in south surrey and they're just waiting for renovations to finish but i was a little worried about finding another tenant... doesn't look like it'll be a problem now...

with that said, i probably would be willing to give the right folks a decent deal if they're good long-term tenants who look after the place
