Our defense is atrocious, while AA is not really known for playing very good defense. That number would be much lower with a competent defense.
Couple that with the fact that he isnt scoring goals because we cant get him the puck on a breakaway or odd-man rush because our defensive play is so weak, he doesnt really have the opportunity to raise the number by scoring some goals.

Its not all his fault, he is the kind of player who will benefit most from the players around him, and when they play poorly, he will too.

My thoughts were he was involved in a trade rumor, If his agent approaches him and ask what teams he's willing to go to or not go to that gives him the incentive that he might be leaving and make him not inspired to try hence the bad numbers?
