I've had low expectations for Detroit since Rafalski left, and rock bottom after Lidstrom. It helps to be able to enjoy the sport after your team is out.

2016-2017: 36 years old - $1.5m (hawks) + $1m (compliance buyout) + $4m (untouchable signing bonus) = 6.5m
2017-2018: 37 years old - $1.5m (hawks) + $1m (compliance buyout) + $0m (no signing bonus) = $2.5m

He was slated to make $8.5m, $7m, and $1m in each of those years. That would certainly be interesting.
