By then I'm hoping to be at a salary point (and maybe a combined salary with someone else) to afford a house with a yard and have 2-3 dogs. I do feel a little guilty having the dog cooped up in an apartment, and that's part of what took me so long to adopt... but after these first few weeks she seems really, really, ridiculously happy.

1.5 hours, that was my commute when I was in the suburbs. 30 minutes to the train station, 1 hour to work. Or I could drive 2-ish hours in rush hour traffic and hate myself the whole way.
