Tough to tell. KHL allows one NHL defector contract to be off the books for each team.. wonder if they'd skip it just because that's a huge contract though.

Oh I was being sarcastic. With Medvedev being league boss and team owner, there's no way that a contract would count against the cap. Especially considering that they're just paying crazy money to pry a NHL trophy winner away from North America.
I wouldn't be surprised if others followed and they'd be cap exempt as well, just to get more stars.

moving down one spot is not going to happen. Everyone knows what they're doing now. If Florida wants Jones, they're going to get him. Only way a trade happens is if they want to settle with Drouin or Barkov
