Calgary finally got Uber, about time. Was ridiculous they wouldnt give them licenses and protected cab drivers for so long.

Taxi drivers being outraged about this drives me nuts. They've basically been the only game in town and refused to evolve in any way. Calling a cab now is basically like calling a cab in the 1970s and most charge you way more than Uber. Some cab companies have recently come out with apps so you can roughly track where your driver is, but they are still exceptionally overpriced (atleast in my experience in Calgary/Edmonton). Also the amount of times I've called a cab, waited like 30 minutes because they never showed up and called again is ridiculous. Number of times I've requested an Uber and they havent shown up: 0.

In Edmonton, the big thing was they wanted a way to differentiate between a normal vehicle and someone driving for Uber, so now they have little U's that they need to display on their dash.
